Internal refurbishment of a Victorian maisonette in Hackney, this is a contemporary design response that blends harmoniously with the existing building fabric.

Introducing a new circulation diagram, the proposal deliberately retains the strong sense of individual rooms that represent this housing type, with accents of brass and geometric encaustic floor tiles providing touchstones from traditional Victorian architecture.
